EuroJEM chemicals and particles
Updated 2026-03-25
A generic quantitative job exposure matrix (JEM) for chemicals and particles, including information on the probability of being exposed and the level of exposure, for occupations on the European labour market from the 1970’s to today.
Chemicals and particles include data from 1970 to 2020 with 10-year intervals and exposure prevalence in three categories for respirable crystalline silica, nickel, wood dust and diesel engine exhaust, as well as estimated average exposure level among the exposed for respirable crystalline silica, wood dust and diesel engine exhaust. For each substance, data is collected from multiple JEMs. This JEM is part of the EuroJEM framework.
